Approved by Governor Gavin Newsom on Sept. 22, 2023, Senate Bill 343 drastically changes nearly every key facet of California child support law, refocusing the lens from forcing so-called "deadbeat" parents to pay their child support to increasing the ability of payors to comply with the law from the start.
