Discovery
Discovery is the process of finding out what assets are available for division and what income or income substitute is available for support. Formal discovery includes:
- Interrogatories (written questions that must be answered under oath), Requests for production of documents (written lists requiring parties to present categories of documents to the attorneys for review, and
- Depositions (formal questioning of a witness or party by the attorneys with a court reporter taking down everything that is being said).
